Alzheimer's is a fast growing disorder among many beyond a particular age, but the reason behind this disorder is the over production of amyloid- beta protein in the brain. Besides the failure of the body to degrade them leads to the formation of clumps in the brain, which in turn results in the blockage of the blood flow to the brain.
Aggravation of these proteins causes dead cells, inflammation in the brain, leading to a cognitive decline in the bran functioning. Many fruits have polyphenols having an anti- oxidant property reducing the deposition of the amyloid protein. One such fruit having a large percentage of polyphenol are grapes, the grape fruit extract helps minimize the accumulation of the Alzheimer's causing protein.
Not only that, it reduces inflammation of brain and also its cognitive function.
Thus incorporating grape fruit extract in the diet is proven to be beneficial in cases of Alzheimer's.
