Karmic Healing
November 19, 2008

What has survived in the East as the teaching of the Law of Karma presupposes the Law of Incarnation. Our karma comes from not only the current past but also from the unfinished tasks of the previous incarnations.
It is helpful to understand and know where this all comes from as it enables us to learn the lesson associated with karma there by overcoming our limitations and freeing us from all the inhibitions.

In this sense it is a healing experience and hence is termed as karmic healing. The experience is vivid and clear that it remains with us for a lifetime; on the contrary dreams are forgotten within a short span of time.
Only those who forget that the spirit lives in them are subjected to unrelenting fate. So keep reminding yourself that you are the spirit and only you are capable of changing your destiny. I know it will not happen in one day, but if you are determined and are persistent you are sure to achieve your goal.

Aroma healing
October 31, 2008

Goddess4552 Aroma meaning fragrance and aromatherapy is the holistic healing process of the mind and body with the use of different fragrance through various oils. The exact origin of aromatherapy cannot be traced to any particular era, but the art of distillation of oils is known as early as 1500 B.C.
These essential oils are found in abundance in flowers, leaves, fruits, roots, and even bark of plants, so they are a natural source of all the required minerals and proteins. These oils are highly concentrated so when extracted they can either be diluted or blended with other oils to acquire the necessary effect. Besides the mesmerizing fragrance the oils also have medicinal properties which have positive effect on the hormones and enzymes as they seep in through the skin.
The fragrance transmits healthy and pleasant signals to the brain followed by happy memories, and encouraging relaxation and strength restoring emotional balance. The oils have an antiseptic and anti- inflammatory property especially in cases of any type of arthritis, and viral infections.
Aromatherapy can either be used for the treatment of physical illness via external application or for mental and spiritual conditioning, by the inhalation practice. The ultimate aim of aromatherapy is to deliver the virtues o these oils and scents to the patient in the most beneficial way.

Colors can do wonders to you
October 21, 2008

A rainbow has seven colors commonly known as VIBGYOR where each alphabet stands for a color. The rainbow gets its color when a ray of light passes through a prism it splits into seven colors. Color is a property of light and the different intensities of light produce different colors and so each has a different beneficial factor.
Every color benefits our mind and body in some or the other way. Come to think of it, each color goes with a specific color and not the other colors, why is it so? For instance, pink and blue go well, but pink and orange does not. This is because our brain sends a signal of a negative feeling, thus if the vibrations of color can be so strong then it can for sure do wonders to our body and soul.
Holistic healers have discovered that each and every color corresponds to a certain part of body referred to as chakras in the ancient science of naturopathy and ayurveda.
This natural and holistic approach is a known cure for the mind, body, and soul, for thousands of years.

Ilana Rubenfeld
September 11, 2006

What makes the Rubenfeld Synergy Method so convincing is the truth that emerges from Ilana Rubenfeld's own life. Ilana_photo In coming to grips with the pain and illness that was destroying her beloved music career, and in having the courage to use her own experience to reach out to others, Rubenfeld shows us that wisdom and compassion, healing and hope, do not have to be represented by hospitals and higher learning. Her mind and body work method has won its own place in the world, winning her the 'Pathfinder Award' in 1994 from the Association of Humanistic Psychology.

By combining elements of psychology and physiology, and the warm and receptive listening that is so important in reaching the inner depths of a person, Rubenfeld broke through the more limiting features of more conventional healing methods. In the numbers of people she has trained, taught, helped and healed, a woman's courage and resilience can truly be seen.

Releasing emotional blocks
September 11, 2006

The tendrils of memory truly reach longer and deeper into our individual psyche than most of us can ever be aware of. Cryingchild What was it like to get a nasty cut on a knee the last day of school? Who helped when the pain was intense and the blood wouldn't stop? How far have we come from such physical events, and even bigger emotional events that surrounded them?

In the 1960s, one woman discovered that the body holds its own memories of past pain, and recognizing this is the first step in releasing many of the emotions, fears and blocks that may be keeping us from living to our own full potential. Ilana Rubenfeld enjoyed a career conducting a classical orchestra till a debilitating spasm in her back turned her to the vocation of helping and healing others. Over the next few years, she perfected a technique now known and recognized as the Rubenfeld Synergy Method to help people return to a more fulfilled life by healing past pain, tapping into their own reservoir of energy, and recognizing their own body signals. Ilana Rubenfeld has trained practitioners in this method, and continues to conduct certificate training programs in the US, in order to achieve a mind-body-emotion alignment for her clients.  Gentle intentional touch, movement, imagery, metaphor, Gestalt techniques and active listening are some of the ingredients of the Rubenfeld Synergy Method.

Very simple and powerful beliefs lie at the core of Rubenfeld's practice. 'Each individual is unique', 'The body tells the truth', and 'Awareness is the first key to change' are some of the values the method affirms. Laughingchild Benefits for those who have experienced RSM sessions range from increased self esteem to better management of stress, and resolution of painful issues, as well as improved interpersonal relationships at work and at home.

Often, we are not aware of how we are being handicapped by residues of past pain, and what we can do to overcome it. Psychotherapy is not a process everyone can afford, and yet, emotional barriers to leading a happy and fulfilled existence must be overcome. The Rubenfeld Synergy Method uses the wisdom of the body and mind to restore the balance of our emotions, achieving a quiet personal transformation.

Healing journeys
August 30, 2006

Because journeys are so significant for us in how they enable us to achieve a psychic shift - connecting to deeper thoughts, feelings and memories, some journeys are undertaken just for healing. With a journey, one is encountering a changed exterior landscape, one that may contain awesome natural sights producing a sense of wonder. How the sight of this landscape works to bring changes in our interior landscape is one part of the 'journey' we undertake.

Some healers offer journeys to special sacred and evocative lands, P8030022 such as author Josie RavenWing offers to Fulnio Indian lands in Brazil, and Clay Miller offers to Greater Sedona Arizona and the Verde Valley. Such healing opportunities contain the double advantage of connecting us to very powerful and inspiring environments at the same time as they put us more in touch with the deepest recesses of ourselves.

When we meditate, we expend energy on our faith or simply focus on ourselves or on an object or on nothingness. Irrespective of whether the object of our meditation is of a religious origin or not, this process implies an increase in our state of awareness and thus empowers us both physiologically and psychologically.

Apparently, meditation helps reduce blood pressure and stress thus promoting healing and reducing the intensity of pain.

No wonder then that healthcare practitioners are increasingly encouraging their patients to meditate to promote their well-being.

Yoga postures or asanas help your muscles and joints to stay strong and flexible. Asanas are also known to help reduce blood pressure and stimulate the immune system.

Their dual effect on the human nervous system is interesting. The sympathetic nervous system also called the “fight or flight” system causes typical human reactions to challenging situations: a rise of blood pressure, quickening of breath rate and the release of stress hormones throughout the body.

Given that we face so much stress in our daily lives, we experience these symptoms everyday, perhaps even several times a day.

The result: health disorders such as poor digestion, ulcers, heart disease, migraines, sexual disorders etc.

On the contrary, the parasympathetic nervous system lowers blood pressure and slows breathing. More importantly, it leaves our blood circulation free to feed our digestive, reproductive and immune systems.

Pranayama is said to encourage the parasympathetic nervous system and thus promote healing and a general state of well-being.
